Camera Woes

So I've sat down to blog at least three to four times and everytime I realize I don't have any pictures. I lost, misplaced or had my camera stolen. So no pictures or blogging until I can figure this out. So...until we meet again.

Wow, busy weekend

So after a week of seeing this... nothing!!



We were glad to see this big white envelope from Salt Lake! It's here!!! So at almost 4pm we started to text and call everyone to come over to the house so we can open his call. I had a few things ready to go just incase it came on Friday, but I had to run the rest of the time to get everything ready to go for everyone to come over.



I'm so tired today!! But so happy and excited. Our son Dallin got his mission call! He's going to serve in Guatemala and will be learning Spanish! We love it. Two down, three more to go. It's been so emotional to do this all over again. I thought maybe it would get easier with every one, but it doesn't, it's an emotional roller coaster. It's like having a baby, after your first one you know what's coming and it's just scary. We want to just thank everyone that came to support us and want everyone to know that we appreciate so much love our way. We feel so blessed. Here's the video of his opening, enjoy!




So after all the craziness on Friday after Dallin's mission call, we woke up on Saturday to clean the house so we could have some friends over for a Destination Dinner. Our good friend Alicia put together this little shindig. Our place was Italy and had appetizers. Then we went to the Folau's for dinner and they were a Hawaii theme. The food was excellent and they did a good job setting the mood with their decorations. The last house was the Burrell's and they were Paris and had dessert for us, an awesome chocolate fountain with all kinds of naughty things to dip and an excellent end to a great night. It was a ton of fun and we were glad to be included. Thanks Alicia for organizing it!

Kris and Amber helped me get this all set up and get out appetizers ready to go for our guests. I made bruschetta, Amber brought a large assortment of cheese and crackers and Kris (Kirk) made some delicious meatballs. Good Eats!!


After a game of Italian charades, the loosing team had to sing and Opera for us...

I have to say, they did a good job!

Happy Birthday Dallin

So we celebrated Dallin's 19th birthday yesterday. He requested Chinese food and cheesecake, so eventhough it was a lot of work, it was great to see him happy and excited about his mission call. We are waiting, waiting, waiting... it's almost here! Bishop let us know that it was in the mail!!! So, he's guessing it will be about a week. So Friday, hopefully we will know! Such exciting times. I'm just a little sad Josh can't be here to see him off, but we know they both wouldn't have it any other way. Love my boys!

Angela's Birthday

So Angela has become very aware of birthdays. She counted down for a week..."four days before my birthday..." "Do you know what day it is in two days?..." etc. So on Monday February 7th, our little girl turned 7 years old!!!! Boy I'm getting old. She's in first grade and loving it. Loves her friends, family and really loves getting presents. So on Monday we made pizza and chocolate cake (at her request, so glad she shares my love of chocolate) and had some of the family over. She loved it and was so happy! She's growing up so fast, I don't even want to think about it, but I am enjoying see her love life. Happy birthday Angela, we love you.

Welcome 2011

I guess I'm a bit late for new year's resolutions, but late than never. I really enjoyed blogging when I was doing it, and now it's just a distant memory. So here's to a new year of hopefully capturing a few precious moments with my family and friends! Wish me luck!

Busy, Busy, busy....

Well, I finally have a week that I'm not totally swamped. So I'm going to try and post some recent and not so recent events. Eventhough Dallin in now married with 5 kids I guess I should talk about when he graduated from Seminary and High School.

We are so glad that they do Seminary graduation by Stake and not with the whole school. It was a neat and very spiritual program. The speakers all did a great job and the spirit was felt by all. Glad to be in good company with good friend that we love and care about. Chaz and Bo are among a great group of boys that Dallin loves to hang out with. All great boys, all planning on serving missions. It's so conforting to know that he has such great friends.

Graduation night is always crazy, mostly because my family is always so great to come and they love to PARTAY!!!!!!




It took us a while to find him, but once we did, it was silly string attack! Good job Dallin on a great year. He also recieved a 2 year tuition scholarship to Central Arizona College and will be taking a semester of school before he leaves on his mission. We are very proud of him and all his accomplishments.

Both Dallin and Kenyon recieved their Eagle Awards this year. It was great to be able to celebrate both at the same time and it was a beautiful ceremony. We are so blessed to have such a great scouting program in our ward. We have great leaders that are very dedicated to the boys and the scouting program. Great job Dallin and Kenyon!!!!

Now the younger boys are following in their footsteps and are right on track to get their scouting awards and achievements. Good job Eric on getting your Bear award.

The end of the school year came along with lots of concerts and plays. Ammon and Eric had their first Piano recital this year. The boy standing next to them is not a just their friend but their teacher. Thanks Tanner on a great year, the boys are learning tons.

Angela had her Kindergarten concert. I won't lie it was long and caotic, but she was so proud and happy and well was the Star of the show, if a say so myself. :) She will be starting first grade this year and I will be all alone all day, what to do? what to do?

And lets not forget Girls Camp. It was an absolute blast, I loved every second of it and I'm super glad its OVER!!! The stake staff was wonderful, the girls were fantastic and our guest speakers were out of this world. My niece Amber was one of the speakers and she did a fantastic job. Thanks Amber for being willing to do that for us, and thanks to my sister-in-law Stephanie and Amanda and Amelia that came down to help and support her. It was great to have my family up at camp. We also had Lisa Thurber that did an awesome job, she really related to the girls so well. Sister Westergaard also came up to talk to the girls about the scripture and knocked out of the park. We had a University theme: University of the Strong and Courages "USC" and had a blast with it. We had a pep ralley, graduation, battle of the bands, ward competitions, and so much more. We had great cooks, good food and a ton of fun. I'm glad that I was able to be under the direction of my friend Kim Skinner that is an awesome leader to these girls in our stake, along with all of her presidency. They are fantastic ladies and I am priviledged to have been able to work with them. Thank you ladies for a great girls camp experince.

I know this is a potpourri of stuff, but maybe I can keep up from now on.... ok, I'm laughing too.

It's Time...

Okay so I've been a big slacker and haven't posted since November, so I'm going to try and catch up, maybe. For Josh updates go to his mission blog see the link on the right. November and December ended up pretty busy with weddings in addition to all the family things going on. I just updated the look of my wedding website and blog so check it out (see link on the right).

Hey maybe I can catch up okay I'm just getting started....
Christmas was great with the kiddos, it's always great to spend some time with our family and then going to visit with the Grandparents. Abuela's house is always fun we had our traditional Mexican Christmas meal and even had a pinata this year the Kids loved it!

The kids all dressed up and did the Nativity and then all the kids participated in a mini talent show. It was great.

The Next morning we went to Grandma's for Christmas day and had the so yummy albondiga soup that she makes and we kept eating all day. Sorry I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures.




Dallin had a busy winter with wrestling. He was the Heavy weight wrestler for Queen Creek High and he did really well this year. He took 3rd place in Regionals, he qualified to go to state and his team took second in the state championship tournament. We are really proud of him!

Dallin was also asked to go to Sadie Hawkins Dance. The girl put a huge garbage bag of shredded newspaper on his bed. He was supposed to find the name in all that mess!

Dallin aswered back with a box full of fortune cookies in which one had his answer: He said Yes!

They were so cute as nerds for the dance.

A few updates down... a few more to go... I hope it doesn't take me 6 months to do it.
